Vision Statement for Songs for Peace . . .
We believe that people of all cultures, races and nations have so much more in common with each other than they have differences.
We believe that a vast majority of the world\'s population would rather live in peace than in conflict.
We believe that if we promote our commonality-and at the same time promote understanding and respect for our differences-there will be more tolerance and acceptance for those with a different belief system.
We believe that in order for there to be peace throughout the world there must be a critical mass of people from all walks of life, religions, races, cultures, and countries who support peaceful solutions and resolutions-and are willing to take action to support those beliefs.
We believe that continually imparting information about peace, tolerance, brotherhood and understanding-in an interesting format that can potentially reach every person on the planet-is a highly effective way of promoting peace.
We believe that music is a universal language that can be used to impart information about peace in an enjoyable, entertaining, and educational manner, and if the music is a work of genius it will be heard all over the world.
We believe that there are thousands of talented musicians around the world who would be willing to enter a worldwide contest to write a song promoting peace and at the same time win fame and a significant cash prize.
We believe that selecting an annual winner for the international Songs for Peace© contest will create worldwide interest and become a significant and well-recognized international event.
We believe that continually imparting peace messages through the annual Songs for Peace contest will create a tipping point, a critical mass of humanity that will rebel against extremism and intolerance and support peaceful solutions for our world family.
